It’s time to say “Goodbye Charlie”

What do Jerry Faust, Bob Davie and Ty Willingham all have in common? Besides being less than popular Notre Dame Coaches they all share a common bond. They all beat Navy every time they played them. All three can sleep a little easier now that Charlie Weis has sealed his legacy at Notre Dame as the worse coach in Irish history.

The only thing more unbearable than watching a Weis coached football team struggle to beat mediocre teams and lose to a team that got trounced by Temple the week before is listening to Lou Holtz try to justify why Weis should stay. “He’th doing a good jobth” says Lou. Well Lou, I think you might be the only person saying so. I’m sure most of the Irish faithful like me think he’s been lukewarm at best. Lou needs a nice warm cup of STFU.

And Charlie Weis needs to go, now. Don’t even wait for the season to end Mr. Swarbrick, do it now. Hell, do it through a text message or a sky writer, be creative but please let the coach start packing. This weekend’s loss to Navy should seal the deal. Weis’s second consecutive home loss to the Middies… a team that up until three years ago hadn’t beaten a ND team in forty three fucking years!

I’m sure that every potential recruit sitting in the stands at Notre Dame Stadium yesterday have taken ND off their list. Anthony Barr, gone! Seantrell Henderson, see you at Ohio State. They’d be crazy to want to come and play for a slob of a coach who walks the sidelines with snot running out of his nose and thinks the wildcat is going to bring his team back from three scores down.

Notre Dame still has Pitt, UConn and Stanford to play this season. Two of those games are on the road. They’ll be lucky to win one of them. This Weis coached team is doing the same thing that they’ve always done, under-performing. They’ve had missed field goals that were very make-able, turnovers in the red-zone. And a defense that seems to stand around and watch the action happen around them.  While you’re at it Chuck, take Tenuta with you.

It’s time for an overhaul, Jack Swarbrick needs to make this happen. There is no reason with all of the talent on that Irish squad to be struggling against teams like Michigan, Purdue or Michigan State. And to get completely outplayed by a Navy team that probably doesn’t have one NFL potential on their roster.

Please Notre Dame, do the right thing. Fire Charlie Weis.

OUCH..but well said. He has done well in recruiting, just not as a HC. Pay the money, wish him well and hire Kelly before Michigan does :)
