I KNOW WHAT I WAS FEELING, BUT WHAT WAS I THINKING

I am not a college football expert. I don’t understand the X’s and O’s of college football or what statistics might mean. I am simply a college football fan whose perceptions and beliefs are based on feelings more than on logic. But anyway, I thought I would share a few of my thoughts with you and see what you think.

1. SEC DOMINANCE

What I feel: As a fan of a different conference, I don’t want to hear that the SEC is the most dominant conference, and yours isn’t as good. Like my mamma use to say “Folks shouldn’t go around bragging about what they got” and she would always point out “Because that aint nice”. My mamma used to call it “Putting on airs”

What I think: The SEC is the most dominant conference……they have won 5 National Championships in the last 10 years….that’s a pretty strong argument.

2. WE NEED A COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAY-OFF

What I feel: I feel that college football has the most exciting regular season of any sport. Every game means something, every snap is important. I have some friends who follow college basketball….and all season long, all I hear from them is “I cant wait for March Madness”…the regular season doesn’t mean that much to them….I feel that play-offs would do the same thing to college football……make the regular season irrelevant…..and I don’t want to see that happen to college football

What I think: I don’t see the need for a definitive College Football Champion. Leave the current system as it is.

3. TEBOW:

What I feel: Every time I hear Tebow’s name I feel like singing the chorus of Toby Keith’s song “Wanna Talk About me”

Wanna talk about I
Wanna talk about number one
Oh my me my
What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see
I like talking about you you you you, usually, but occasionally
I wanna talk about me

What I think: I think Tebow is a fine young man and a great role model. He is a strong leader, a fierce competitor, and an exceptional football player…….I think Tebow is one of the best college football quarterbacks ever.
